spring leaves

This is the card I made today

Yes....I know it's fall, but it was fun to switch it up and use a spring theme. Besides I already had the Ranger distress Ink (Mowed Lawn) on my craft table! I did a quick swipe over an embossed panel (Budding Leaves by Lisa Horton),  added the "YOU" which is a die cut from Avery Elle and finished with the black strip saying "are loved".  A quick and easy card in my favorite shade of green!

Birthday

Hi!

Wednesday has rolled around again and
it's time for challenge #673 over at Little Red Wagon
Imke is our hostess and she chose the topic "Birthday".
So I chose to do a happy birthday shaker card:

I used colors found in the background paper to color the cupcake and
to pick out the sequins for inside the shaker.
I used the stamp set called Piece of Cake from Honey Bee Stamps.

Thanks for stopping by today.

golden leaves

Hi! I'm back again with more embossed leaves. This time I used a gold metal looking paper.

Here's a closer look:

I popped the leaf and sentiment with tiny foam dots to add even more dimension .
To get the leaf that I wanted to pop up I just embossed another gold panel and cut out the leaf.

Today I'm playing along with:

New crafty stuff

Hi! I just love it when I get new crafty stuff, so I was really happy to get the package from Simon Says Stamp yesterday. I had ordered two embossing folders ...one of leaves and one of pumpkins...a Diamond circle stencil and some white stencil cream( mine had all dried up!). The first thing I opened up was the Leaves embossing folder and I had fun playing with it all afternoon. Of all the things I created this is my favorite:

Here's how it came about...for my first project  I embossed the leaves on white card stock then gave it a light rub  with copper pigment ink. I backed the embossed panel on copper glitter paper and also used the glitter paper to die cut the sentiment

 Here's a closer look :

Nice card ...but then I thought wonder what those leaves would look like colored...

Yep...they look good colored! I love my Copics! Granted it took awhile to color , but that is my idea of a good time! ...so, end of the story is I love this embossing folder. :)

Love

Hi!

For today's challenge at Little Red Wagon Kate says "all we need is love", so you can use anything to do with love on your projects. I chose to use this really cute die from My Favorite Things (love ya).

Add some stripes and a pieced heart with  pretty sparkles and wa-la you're done!

I think I'll wait till I'm ready to send it before deciding what to put on the inside. It could be a Valentine's Day card ...or just a card to surprise a special someone.

Hope you have a great day!

Things that Fall

Hi!

A new challenge is starting at
Double D Challenges.

To get you started, here's an inspiration board:

This is the prize that is being offered:

So playing along, my brain went right to falling leaves and this is what I made:

The sentiment was typed using the computer and the falling leaves were cut from the Lawn Fawn die cuts called "small stitched leaves"
which were cut out of white card stock and then colored them with Copic markers. To finish I added a few enamel dots.

Enjoy the rest of your day.

Christmas

Hello everyone! I ordered a new die from Spellbinders and it came in the mail yesterday. The name of it is "Be Bold Color Block Merry Christmas" and it certainly is!

I wanted the black background to be sparkly...but I didn't have any black glitter paper...so I sprayed some Pixie Spray ( light tack, adhesive for stencils) onto black card stock and then sprinkled some Doodlebug black sugar coating (glitter). Well, it worked ...but I also glittered me and everything around me including the cat!!!

I cut the word die out of three different colors of card stock and by rearranging the color order you have enough letters for 3 cards. Then just to add some dimension I layered the Merry four deep.

Anything but a square or rectangle

Hi, Happy Wednesday!

This week at Little Red Wagon our hostess is Brenda and she challenges us

to make it anything but a square or rectangle.

So I chose to make a rocker card which is made using a large circle folded in half.

I love this little mouse. Years ago ,before I retired, I owned a scrapbook shop

and I made a lot of paper piecings to sell in the shop. This was one of them.

Here's the shapes used to put him together:

It was fun to combine an old craft with a new one.

Glad you could stop by today.

Bye for now,

Doni

Sympathy

My stash was totally out of sympathy cards, so that's what I've been working on this morning.

                                                                           I used:

Love & Sympathy stamp set from Stampin'Up , and Bird Trio die cut from Cottage Cutz.

Now, on to make some Anniversary cards because I'm out of those too! Thanks for stopping by.

Cute, cute, cute

Hi everyone! Welcome!

This week at Little Red Wagon the challenge is titled "cute, cute, cute".

Our lovely hostess is JanR, so I'm going to go out on limb here and say she wants something cute

on our card....😁

Here's what I came up with:

Little animals are cute and to cover all my bases, since JanR requested 3 cute things

I put the last one on the inside:

I used the Smile die cut from My Favorite Things and the cute little animals are

from a stamp called Birth-yay also from My Favorite Things.

I hope you have as much fun with this challenge as I did.

'til next time,

Doni

Farm animals

Hello!

This is my first day on a new design team. I'm so excited to be on Diane's team on Double D Challenges.

A new challenge is starting at
Double D Challenges.

Baa-Cluck-Moo-Oink-Quack

- Feel free to use any or all -

To get you started, here's an inspiration board:

Play along and you could win this great prize:

Here's the card I made for this weeks challenge:

I began this card by picking out a light background with a very subtle design. Next I stamped the image on the bottom left corner and only colored the corn stalk. Since I didn't want the patterned paper design to show through the animals bodies I stamped the image again on white ...colored just the animals then fussy cut them out. The inside of the cow's ears and his nose are colored a light pink which doesn't show up in the photograph...darn! Last thing to do was to pop it back onto the card front.

I hope you'll have fun playing along.

Hugs,

Doni

Pet sympathy

It's with a sad heart that I made this pet sympathy card for my Aunt who just lost her long time companion...a sweet little dog named Chester.

I used an embossing folder from Darice , a sentiment from a Hero Arts stamp and the black paw print is made using a really old McGill punch!
